The box

Live fish ship overnight in an insulated box with oxygen. The carrier is FedEx or UPS. A box that leaves in the morning is due the next day.

Which days

Boxes leave Monday to Wednesday. That keeps live fish from sitting in a depot over the weekend. A Monday ship is due Tuesday. A Wednesday ship is due Thursday.

Where

Continental US only. Hawaii, Alaska, PO boxes, APO, FPO, and other military addresses are not served. Koi packs do not ship to Maine.

Weather holds

If the daytime forecast on the route is below 45°F or above 90°F, the shipment waits for a safer day. We would rather hold a box than bake it or freeze it.

Delivery day

  1. 1

    Be home

Overnight fish should not sit on a hot or frozen porch. Plan to be there.

  2. 2

    Shade, then open

Carry the box into the shade. Open it when you can follow the care guide.

  3. 3

    Sealed bags

The fish are in sealed bags inside the insulated box. Leave the bags closed until you float them.

  4. 4

    Then the pond

Follow the care guide before any fish go in. Bag water stays out of the pond.

St. Louis pickup

Planned St. Louis pickup days in spring: coming soon. Until those days are on the calendar, the store is online only and fish ship from partner farms.
